When are the Live Classes?

This class is about 1hour in duration, with time at the end for some Q & A. As we get more support and expand our catalog & calendar, the main page calendar will be the best place to see all of our classes. Here are the dates we're offering this presentation.

Tuesday June 8th 2021 - 7PM EST
Tuesday January 11th 2022 - 7PM EST

What will I learn in the Class?

Mark Gostkiewicz, the Co-Founder of Tri Gable Lea Farm LLC will be presenting this class. Mark has been keeping bees since 2014. In this fun class, he'll walk-through a bunch of projects large and small that you can use to help native pollinators & why you may want to become a backyard beekeeper.

In this class we will discuss...

  • The joys of keeping bees - discussing why people fall in love with this hobby
  • The differences between native pollinators vs honeybees: Lifecycle, instincts, and basic needs
  • How you can better support honey bees vs how you can better support native pollinators
  • Simple planting projects to increase diversity
  • Simple building projects to provide shelter
  • The need for honey bees vs the need for natives - how we can strike a balance
  • Bigger projects garden clubs and conservation associations can take on to support native pollinators.
  • Curated resources/recommendations for further learning & engagement
