So many customers have requested these...now they are here! Define your chicken run area with simple to install and maintain panels. We construct sturdy frames that are modular and will be designed to screw together to create a complete and secure run.

How to Design Your Own Run

Watch this video for an overview of the features of these runs: https://youtu.be/fsF1MQtQDKk

First, make sure the ground will be roughly level. Dig out the perimeter of the area so it is level. We suggest you make a sketch and decide your length, width, and height using multiples of 4 feet.

The height of the run is either 4' or 6'. Just high enough to crouch down into without wasting head space, or tall enough to comfortably walk in and even set up perches. In reality they are a few inches shy of 4’ or 6’ but it rounds up. Some pictures show 8' tall panels (these go over my head). Feedback from customers and from my own experience assembling them is that 8' was just too high for installation. You needed a tall step ladder and lots of hands. 6' is tall enough for everyone to get inside and do what they need to do.

Decide which panel will have the gate. This is important because you will want the run easily accessible. Design the run so the gate is in the best place for you and the layout of your yard.

Keep EITHER the length OR width of the run no longer than 4' or 8'. This ensures that we can build a ceiling panel that will cover the run without being too long. These are an essential piece to tie all of the panels together into a unified structure. These are lighter panels made from 2x2's.

We can piece these together to make larger runs like an 8'x12' run. However that 8' side needs to stay 8'...again so we can make panels that can go over the top. The larger the run, the more important FLAT ground is going to be so the panels marry together nicely.

Decide on the details of how you are going to allow your birds to get in and out of the run. Will the run go over the whole coop, enclosing the coop and the birds all at once? Will the run be attached to an existing coop; how will you attach it? You'll see in the pictures how I screwed the panels right to the coop and cut-out parts of the fencing so the chickens could leave the coop and go into the run.

Finally, use the drop-down menu to select the kit you need, add them to your cart and check out. We'll contact you about pickup/delivery/installation questions. If you'd like to use this to get a rough price but then contact us to do a custom design...just contact us and we'd be happy to give you a design and quote.

Sizes

We offer these in sizes that minimize waste. So all the sizes are based on 4’, 6' and 8’ dimensions. In reality they are just a few inches shy of 4’, 6' or 8’...again for efficiency. All panels are made with pressure treated 2x4's. The Gates are hinged and have gate latches, but are made with 2x2's to reduce their weight. The roof panel is also made with 2x2’s.  We use 2"x4" heavy gaged welded wire fencing. This is much stronger than "chicken wire" or hardware cloth. Our new design has triangular bracing in all the corners to hold them square. All doors are 2' wide, hinging outward with hinges on the left of the frame, and  you can choose where you want it.

Kits Ready-To-Go

No calculations needed. Just choose one of these kits to assemble yourself or ask us for an installation quote. Each of these kits includes 1 gated panel.

We'd be happy to have you pick these up at our farm or we can deliver them to your door for an additional fee of $50 plus $1.75 per mile from 06415. We can also install these in your yard for a flat-rate of $100, however the homeowner needs to make sure the perimeter is prepared by making it level; ask for a separate installation and/or delivery quotes.  We can assemble it on site and then you can level it at your convenience AFTERWARDS. We're sorry that we cannot ship these beyond Southern New England.
